Reflexology - How to Read a Foot Reflexology Chart

Anything below than that is questionable, and you could say that the knowledge of the person is still insufficient. The key here is to look for the person who is nationally certified to perform the therapy. At least with the nationally certified therapist, you can be sure that you are getting your money's worth. If you feel that your headache is caused by vision problem, press the area between your ring finger and index finger. If you are not sure which eye nerve is affected press one area after the other. Most of time, the affected area would hurt a little with a soft press. Do not squash or over press any of your reflexology points because that could lead to injuries and bruises. A reflexology session can last up to an hour though an average length would be thirty minutes. The patient keeps in a reclining position and the reflexologist may use a table or a chair depending on the height desired. The patient may prefer to have a hand reflexology or foot reflexology, those who are ticklish need not be alarmed because the pressure applied on the foot will be firm and not feathery. The focus on the foot as the main gateway to getting well can be traced to a number of studies and researches made in the past. Based on these researches, the anatomy of the person can be traced to the sole of the foot. For example, the heart and the rest of the organs have representations on the foot of the person. But other than this, there is a host of feelings, experiences and emotions that are often reported by the participants and patients. For example there is a set of patients that will tell of the feeling of lightness or that feeling of warmth every time they are under the therapy sessions. Or the more imaginative patients, they would often report that feeling of being open- as if there is energy movement. In India their version of reflexology is called the Ayurvedic Reflexology. Although those in practice do not refer to it as another type of reflexology but an entirely different method borne out of a fusion of two principles, reflexology and Ayurveda, the traditional Indian health system. Ayurveda is of two Indian words; 'Ayur' or life and 'veda' or knowledge.
