Midrange CNC routers are often a favourite among hobbyists and small scale businesses. Even though it is smaller, it can still have the power of a full production CNC router. Hobby CNC router The Hobby CNC router, which is homemade, is designed and built by the owner. Basically, the main advantage of CNC machining is the improved accuracy, efficiency, productivity and overall safety. Operators are less at risk because human interaction is decreased. Many applications of CNC machining have the machines operating unmanned for significant periods of time. The software automatically stops operations and asks for human help only in cases of errors and other problems. It also needs to be retaught each time there is a new tool introduced. Versatile sizes and functions Today s CNC lathes are available in many sizes and are made by specialty manufacturers of sophisticated machinery. The most common CNC lathe has a tool turret that can hold tooling (insert cutters, drills, reamers) and a spindle with a chuck jaw to hold different types of metal. Some would sell because they are upgrading their production, closing down or relocating. Aside from that, local newspapers and hardware stores would often have listings of equipment up for sale.
