Realize that half of the 24 hours allotted to each of us each day are to be spent for personal necessities like eating, sleeping and toilet. The remaining hours is for travelling and other personal errands. The eight hours left to work everyday is not only very reasonable it is ideal. - Individuals may differ but for most people, the first working hours in the morning are the most productive. This is why a good time management program has to encompass every level of the workforce. Reinforcing those that are working and being prepared to make even drastic changes when the need is there. Being creative in doing and introducing different ways of doing things, challenging routines and habits, defending your plan and your time when others dictates on it and simply raising your use of time with the end view of being more productive and useful. Limit giving in to temptation of engaging in small talk when priorities are set and being worked on. Respect you decision in planning and you are on your way. Delegate. Be realistic about the things that you can and can not do. Delegate the things that you must. Colleges and universities are also offering time management courses to its student to help each cope with current requirements and in preparation for their professional lives. What it is Not Time Management Some of the most common arguments about not having to put time into segments of activities is that time management restrict spontaneity. It takes away the surprises that make life more enjoyable. It makes life so regimented to limit freedom. On the other hand a person who have learned enough time management and have applied them have more predictable results, have better direction and purpose, are more successful and often ends up with more time in hand.
