Here the ball travels down the side of the court from the front wall to the back corner. Aim 4 feet to 8 feet out from the side wall, and not any higher. If it is high enough, the ball rebounds off the back wall where your opponent can return it. Do not hit the ball too close to the side wall, either. Many fitness clubs have started offering and including racquetball courts in their facilities. Since then, the sport has become more popular. Instead, keep your knees bent throughout the swing until you hit the ball. You do this unconsciously, so be alert and alarmed why your shots are not staying low. Do not face the front wall in your swing. Stand parallel to the right side wall if you are doing forehand. For backhand, stand 45 degrees to the side wall. This should be done with enough force. Hit the ball hard enough into a side wall with enough momentum to rebound on the front wall and still have enough energy to hit the other side wall as high as possible. The ball will bounce to the floor nearly behind the center court heading to the other back corner. The Z shot is employed in order to confuse and tire out the opposing player. It is achieved by making a hard and high hit at the side wall making the ball hit the front then to the other side wall and finally back to the original side wall. If this offensive technique is properly executed the path of the ball will manifest a Z shape. Don t throw the old pair until you have the new ones fit your feet just right. Afterwards, you can play a hard game with them. Elbow protection They may call it tennis elbow, but this injury also happens to racquetball players. (Only 5% of all cases happen to tennis players.) Symptoms consist of pain around the elbow joint, with tenderness occurring on or below the bony bump.
