Bagpipe The bagpipe is an aerophone, a musical instrument class, and uses enclosed reeds to vibrate by movement of stored air in a bag. It is more commonly referred by pipers as pipes . You might be familiar with the Irish uilleann pipes or the Scottish great highland bagpipe but there are also varieties of bagpipes coming from regions all around the Persian Gulf, Northern Africa, and Europe. The left hand controls the 10 holes on the top joint while the right hand is used for the also 10 holes on the bottom joint. Covered with keys are two holes in the bell section. Some craftsmen still manufacture hand made oboes. The double reed is made of cane which is dried and aged from the south of France or Spain s east coast. It was used by swing clarinetist like Artie Shaw and also by jazz musicians namely Alcide Nunez and Louis Nelson Delisle. But as the big bands popularity faded, so did the clarinets central position in jazz. It was also used in pop and rock music. Its diversity in the sound production gave it a chance on many genres. Accordion The accordion is a handheld free reed musical instrument from the bellows-driven aerophone family. At times, accordions are called squeezeboxes and thought of as a one-man-band. It often does not need any accompanying instrument because the performer could play music on keys using the right hand and the accompaniment which has pre-set and bass chord buttons using the left hand. The player can move the key up and down which causes the tangent to also push up and down on the string. This makes the string tighter or looser. This instrument is very mellow and quiet. It was previously not used to accompany other instruments because it was barely audible. The clavichord is most beautiful when playing slow and expressive music.
