Homebrewing Basics: All-Grain Brewing

 

Notwithstanding the scarcity of malt and hops today, you can still brew 5 gallons at a lesser cost than the cheapest beer brand in your nearby store. It can only get better since the cost of malt and hops is bound to get cheaper in the days to come. Reduced Hangovers A beer-drinking binge doesn't have to provide you misery in the morning. Well, you may argue that others will just be contented with personal recognition and may not venture on commercializing their home made product. But this doesn't mean that it is not possible, in fact it is very much possible especially when the opportunity is very promising. However, it requires skills and perfection to reach this far. Brewing pot or also known as brewing kettle is where you make the mixture or what is called wort (pronounced as wert). There are actually available pots designed for brewing in the supply market, but an ordinary pot will do so long as it can hold at least one galloon of mixture or liquid. 2. Now if you are just new in home brewing and would like to play with specialty grains, then start with the crystal malt. And all of these processes will require different kinds of water, at least in terms of quality. Now how does water affects the production and the brewing of beer? Let it be known that water can affect the production of beer in three ways: The ions in the water are important in the mashing process. And the character of the water used for this process will have an impact on the quality and the taste of the beer.
